What kinds of clothes should this body type wear?
My mom is always having trouble finding things that look good on her so I would like some advice!
Description: She's 5'5", large breasts (size D), large belly (she's always worried that her stomach sticks out too much, especially when she wears plain colored tops). However, her legs are very slim (she would probably be a size 16 girls pants, if it weren't for her big belly). Her body is more of a pear shaped. She also has thick arms (that she likes to cover up).
Style: She has a lot of floral patterns tops & babydolls (she says it hides her stomach). As for bottoms, she always wears these drawstring "capris" (they look more like short pants). I'm trying to convince her that she can wear more than just floral patters and loose pants.
It would really help if you could make an outfit that would fit her body type using online websites such as Ann Taylor, Lord and Taylor, Nordstrom, and Macy's. This way, I can get a better picture of what kinds of clothes look good on her.

deff kimiono type shirts
they are baby doll-ish so they are loose at the stomach area and usually kiminos covers 3/4 or 1/2 of your arms
I am not a fashion expert but I do watch What not to Wear on TLC. I have always been interested in fashion. I have a mom who taught me how to dress and look good. I do get compliments, surprisingly enough since I’m pretty basic but it seems to work for me.
I would suggest trying out looks that minimize her belly. Wearing jackets is one way that might work. Wool slacks. Dresses. I would suggest also to use stick with the same shade of color, darker green pant and lighter green top.
The best thing to do is to experiement and try on different clothes, styles. Don’t discount anything too quickly. Keep a critical eye. Ask the sales associate because they can be very helpful but don’t rely solely on them obviously. They may offer suggestions that could work as well. Just be careful not to rely on them too heavily. The decision is the wearer of the clothes. The chief influence should be her friend or family member who knows her style and what she is comfortable in. That’s where the sales associate is out.
