How many years would I be able to have a more muscular body if I am participating in a team sport regularly?
I am a preteen and plan to join our school's varsity. I am thin and lean and want to have a body transformation. Will I be more muscular in my senior year if I participate in a team sport on a regular basis?

When I was 12, I was kind of skinny and not very athletic. That’s the year I started getting involved in the sport of wrestling. I can tell you with absolute certainty that getting involved in sports will transform your body very quickly.
Within a season of practice and competition, people could really notice a change in my body. My muscles were already bigger, my posture was a lot more athletic, and was physically able to run, climb, lift, and move like never before. By the time I was 16, the routine of competing, drilling, lifting, and running got me into serious physical shape.
I didn’t start competing in sports in order to have a better body, but that’s basically what varsity wrestling did to me. In senior year, I was in peak shape at 18, all muscle. As part of my training, I lifted weights intensely and kept a really disciplined diet… all for competition. I’m in college now, and a bit more relaxed on the training, but my goal is to maintain myself in really good shape, and competing in a sport was the best way for me to get that way in the first place.
If you’re looking for motivation to get yourself strong and physically skilled, go for a sport and work hard at it! It’s a great motivation.
