Yes, you definitely can change your body shape through both proper diet and exercise (especially using free weights and circuit training). Now, some people can change faster because of several factors including genetics, metabolism, etc. But, you can accentuate your body’s positive shape and figure.
As always, diet and exercise are the key.
As for diet, try eating 6 smaller meals a day with a protein shake for breakfast and lunch. A single serving of fruit for mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack. Dinner should be a sensible meal- minimize rice and breads. Try this for a two-week period. Then, vary your meals accordingly.
Workouts should have weights and circuit type of training. Free weights are great for toning and weight-loss. You can try dumbbell squats with shoulder presses. Here is a great and effective circuit training using a treadmill. Walk for 2 minutes (as a warm-up), jog for 2 minutes, run hard for a minute, then jog for 2 minutes, run hard for a minute, etc…do this for about 20-23 minutes. This works great.
By the way, do not be a slave to scale. Check the mirror also. It will show results.
This is just a start. Keep working out and eating properly. Your body will change into that hourly shapely figure.
Good Luck.

Something I’ve noticed, is that if you focus on the “fat” etc….you tend to discourage yourself. Focus on the smaller things first…Work on building your calves up….I mean strenuously, because they’re very difficult to work with; if you want there to be shape in them, work on them. Cycle your exercises too; set yourself a number of reps and when you can achieve that many reps on each body part, then increase it.
do increments of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35,…
work on your calves, thighs, biceps, chest, back muscles, etc….the body works as a unit, so: to achieve a desired shape of say, just your stomach and waist, then prepare the entire body to assist you in achieving that.
Don’t starve yourself, don’t try any “super diets” or anything….if anything, INCREASE your carb. take, even though you always here of cutting down on carbs when you’re trying to loose weight, if you’re going to be working out more and more….then don’t dodge the carbohydrates!
And pretty much, as long as you can BALANCE what you eat…if you cut back a little bit on sugars, cokes, etc….increase hydration, and beyond that just eat lots of protein, because this builds muscle (beans, meats, nuts…).
#1 exercise
#2 focus on increasing you carb, protein, and water intake
